What is the $50 fee mentioned on the services and rates page?

The flat rate for dog walks is $325/month per dog and $50 extra per additional dog for one walk per day. For two walks per day the rate is $625/month per dog and $100 extra per additional dog.

Do you charge last minute scheduling fees?

Yes.  Last minute requests are $5.

Do you charge holiday or weekend surcharges?

Yes. Holiday requests are $20.

I need services on short notice, and I’m a new customer. Can last-minute services be arranged?

Sure! But our online booking system may not allow you to schedule a service if it’s too close to service date, so we don’t miss any last-minute bookings. It’s best that you call us at 202-232-PETS to discuss your needs.

What is the best way for me to book Pet Peeps services?

Our online scheduling system is best. It’s fully automated for your convenience and is available 24/7/365. However, if you need last-minute services, call us at 202-232-PETS or e-mail

How do I use the online scheduling system?

Visit our scheduling page and use the “New Clients” link if you have never had Pet Peeps services before, or use the “Existing Clients” link if you have had Pet Peeps services in the past. If you are an existing client and you’ve never booked online before, call 202-232-PETS for a username and password. Please note that our online scheduling system is the only way to book online; sending an e-mail or filling out our contact form does not guarantee service has been booked.

What does the account initialization involve?

When you book with us for the first time, Gus, Pet Peeps’ founder and top dog, will arrange a time to come to your house and meet with you and your pets. He’ll learn about your needs and any unique circumstances of your house and pets, like health and temperament. This consultation is covered in the $25.00 new account initialization fee. If you’d like to meet the walker or sitter who’ll be taking care of your pet there is an additional $15.00 fee to arrange a meeting before the time of service.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

Yes! We accept cancellations up to 48 hours from the time of your appointment. As long as you cancel before 48 hours from your scheduled appointment you’ll get a full refund. If your card has been charged you’ll receive a credit on your card. If your card has not been charged, no charge will be placed.

Do you offer services on weekends?

Yep! We operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Our office and scheduling hours are Monday through Friday 9am-5pm, evenings and weekends by appointment.

What are your service areas?

Are you licensed?

Yep! Pet Peeps is licensed to do business in DC, MD and VA. To understand what this means, read this page.

Are you bonded and insured?

Yes. Pet Peeps is fully bonded and insured. To understand what this means, read this definition.

Do you background check your staff?

Yes we do! All Pet Peeps staff are background screened before hiring. For more info about employment background screening, visit this page.

Will I have the same walker or sitter for every appointment?

We can’t guarantee you will have the same walker or sitter every time because sometimes scheduling changes happen last minute. We do our best to let our clients know about staff changes whenever possible, but the most important thing is that your pet is given timely care, even if it’s by a different staff member.

Will I receive updates while I’m away?

Yeah! Our sitters and walkers often text, call or e-mail to let you know that they’ve visited and cared for your pets, and that everything went well. In addition, they will leave a detailed note for you to read when you return. If any problems come up you’ll hear about them promptly.

Can Pet Peeps bring in my mail or do other tasks while I’m away?

Our sitters and walkers can bring in the mail and newspaper and perform other basic tasks like watering plants or cleaning up after pet messes. Be sure to talk about your needs during your initial consultation.

Can Pet Peeps walkers or sitters give my pet medication?

Yes, but we may refer you to someone who is more experienced, like a vet tech. There may be extra fees depending on the medication and how difficult it is to give your pet. Contact us to discuss your pet’s needs.

Do you offer grooming?

We do not offer grooming.

Does Pet Peeps offer training services?

Right now we don’t offer training, but we plan to in the future – stay tuned!

Do you walk dogs in groups?

The majority of our dog walks are done individually, one dog at a time. If there’s more than one dog in a household we’ll walk them in groups by household. However, on a case-by-case basis we may walk dogs in pairs, but only when their temperaments allow and it’s safe and practical.
